Compilation of jazz and cabaret-like venues in Paris

We thank Gail Burke for compiling this 2026 list of jazz and cabaret-like venues in Paris.

Cafe Osmoz

33 rue d’Ouest, 14ème – near Tour Montparnsse

Known in the past for regular Wednesday open mikes with Sheldon Forrest, who now only returns to Paris occasionally, this cafe/restaurant is a fun, friendly place with many welcoming regulars. Live jazz on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; many performers open the stage for singers after their regular sets. Karaoke on Tuesdays.

Auberge de la Butte

8 rue de la Buttes aux Cailles, 13ème

Old-world bistro that has regular jazz sessions on Saturday evenings, many followed by open mikes. Located in an authentic medieval pocket of Paris that escaped Haussmann’s renovations.

Nul Bar Ailleurs

18 rue de Cotte 12ème -two metro stops east of Bastille

Tuesday night ‘Around the Table’ jam/open mike session run by Olivier, who carefully monitors the order of participants. Jazz/rap/traditional & other styles welcome. Always at least two guitarists, but sometimes other accompanists. Many singers bring their own instruments or backing tracks. Karaoke every Thursday.

About 100 yards around the corner from the best and most fun wine bar in Paris – Le Baron Rouge, 1 rue Théophile Roussel. A don’t miss.

Le Cinquante

50 rue de Lancry, 10ème

A downbeat bar (no food) in a bustling non-touristy quarter near Canal St. Martin. Live music on Sundays, but recently taken over by new manager Hibou (former sound man at Nul Bar Ailleurs and a fantastic singer/performer/DJ in his own right) who pledges to present live bands, singers & open mikes on other nights.

Les 2 Pianos

134 rue de Lourmel, 15ème

Ground floor restaurant with a full performance stage & concert venue upstairs. Run by Chika DeLucia, who presents a regular open mike session on the second Sunday evening of each month. She also does her own sets. Top notch piano drum & contrebasse backup. A full schedule of jazz/big band/salsa/swing & more concerts on other nights. Must check their monthly program.

L’Echiquier

164 rue St. Maur, 11ème

Live jazz on Wednesdays, occasionally on other nights along with blues/country/manouche groups on random evenings. Must check listings. Not an open mike venue.

Aux Deux Ecus

1 place des Deux Ecus, 1er

Lively brasserie right across from the Bourse de Commerce. Holds regular jazz concerts, jams & open mikes, but must check their schedule. Top-notch accompanists.

Galway Irish Pub

13 quai des grands Augustins, 6ème (right on the Seine)

Regular Monday night open mike. No accompanists, but house guitar & microphone available. Performers sign up for three-song sets. Favored by folksy singer/songwriter types, but open to all styles.

The Highlander Scottish Pub

8 rue de Nevers, 6ème

Similar to the Galway, run by Scottish expats. Wednesday open mike (no accompanists, but house guitar & piano), Thursday karaoke, and live music on Fridays & weekends.

Le Piano Vache

8 rue de Place, 5ème

Not open mike at all, but a venue for terrific jazz (Monday nights only) in the shadow of the Pantheon. Resembles a ’50s beatnik coffee house with every square inch of wall space covered with movie and concert posters. Feel the ghost of Maynard G. Krebs.

Café Laurent

33 Rue Dauphine, 6ème – HOTEL D’AUBUSSON

Aux Trois Mailletz

56 rue Galande, 5ème

Chez Papa

3 rue Saint-Benoît, 6ème
